Glin Castle has been in the FitzGerald family for over 700
years and is currently owned by the 29th Knight of Glin. The
castle overlooks the River Shannon and set on 500 acres of dairy
lands and parklands. All rooms have been modernized have full
en-suite bathrooms. Sumptuous furnishings decorate the entire
castle. The house retains an atmosphere of historic proportions
to include the famous flying staircase, many works of art, plaster
ceilings, mahogany bookcases and marble tiles. The castle is
surrounded but wonderful old world manicured gardens that include
stone urns and busts, a collection of follies, manicured hedges
and a walled garden off the kitchen that grown fresh herbs,
fruit and vegetables for the castle table. The whole estate
maintains an air of luxury that only the landed gentry possess.
The house as a whole is like a museum yet only guests are allowed
inside the inner sanctum of the estate, thus providing a safe
haven from the outside world.
Step through the doors and leave modern day behind to experience
a truly unique and privileged stay.
