ST. FIACHRA'S GARDEN
Tully, County Kildare

St. Fiachra's Garden was laid out on the grounds of the Irish National Stud in 1999 to commemorate the Patron Saint of Gardeners and to celebrate the Millennium. It was designed by Professor Martin Hallinan, who is an award winning landscape architect. His interpretation with this garden is to give visitors a glimpse back to the monastic movement of the 6th and 7th centuries in Ireland.

The garden seeks to capture the landscape in its rawest state...that of rock and water.

The main entry into the garden is through an underground stone passage. Follow the path through woodlands and wetlands to view lakes and islands and all of the wildlife who make their home here, including families of Ireland sacred bird, the swan.

In keeping with the theme of this garden, a recreation of monastic cells can be

found at the heart of the garden. Within are displays by Waterford Crystal which are back-lit with fibre optics.
